Understanding Skip Permits

Before hiring a skip that is to be placed on the public highway in the Liverpool City Council or Wirral Borough Council areas, a skip hire permit is required. If the skip is being positioned in a controlled parking zone (i.e. in a residents parking bay, on a single yellow line or in a pay and display bay) you will also need a parking suspension. Both of these permits cost money and can take time to arrange, typically a couple of days at least. Recycle Your Small Electricals

Are there any unused small electrical items in dotted around your home that are broken or just a bit past their prime?

They could be old kids toys, a broken toaster or kettle, an old mobile phone or computer just hidden in a cupboard or draw gathering dust. Sometimes you may find it difficult to part with goods that you may still deem as valuable but are certain that you will never use again.

Don't despair your old electrical items could once again be put to good use all you need to do is recycle them!! Simply take them down to your local recycling centre.

Alternatively if any of your small electrical's are still in good working order you could consider taking them to a local charity shop. There are an abundance of charity networks and shops that would be more than happy to find a new home for your unwanted, working small electrical goods.

 

What to do with your Xmas Tree

Christmas trees serve a purpose for a very short period of time, when the time arrives to take down the decorations and face the fact that Christmas is over many people are left wondering what to do with their used Christmas Tree.

You will find that most local Council Tips in the UK will take old Christmas trees, they usually shred them to make ground-cover for use in their parks. For those who struggle to take the tree to the tip, your local Council may be able to arrange for the refuse collection service to remove the tree from your home: Call or check their website to find out.
